DC Dynasty Players' In Professional Baseball

Derrick McPhearson

Derrick was an incredible athlete out of DeMatha Catholic HS. He was a great competitor and one of the strongest athletes I have been around. As an outfielder, Derrick was a pure athlete with raw baseball abilities. He never cease to amaze his teammates, it was incredible to see him explore his talents. His speed and arm strength were his biggest assets. He could go from 1st to 3rd with the best of them, and could impact a game without ever getting a hit. Derrick attended the University of Illinois on a football scholarship, and signed a free agent contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008.

Gerard Hall

Gerard has been with DC Dynasty since the 8th grade. He played on one of our original Dynasty teams. Gerard was a small kid with an oversized work-ethic. He went on to star at Gonzaga College HS, where he was an All-Met Shortstop. In his final season with Dynasty, he helped lead the team to the ECTB National Championship game. In the final day of the tournament, Gerard hit homeruns from both the right and left side of the plate. The switch-hitting, smooth fielding shortstop took his talents to ODU and signed with the Kansas City Royals in 2009. He has steadily improved and continues to be one of the hardest workers in the game.

Jose Sanchez

Jose was a tremendous Pitcher/Outfielder for the Dynasty. Jose played 3 years on the 19U team, where he played every outfield position and never missed his start in the rotation. Jose made more of a commitment than anyone, because he traveled to and from Stafford County for games and practices. Jose was only 5 foot 7 inches 145 lbs, but was somehow able to reach in the upper 80's with his fastball and consistently hit the ball with the best of them. He went on to become a Junior College All-American and helped lead his team to a JUCO National Championship appearance. Jose signed a free agent contract with Kansas City in 2009.

Emmanuel Burriss

Emmanuel was the first Washingtonian to ever be chosen in the first round of the MLB amateur draft. Emmanuel was a member of the Dynasty team in 2003 when he batted leadoff and stared at shortstop in the ECTB National Championship Series at State College, PA. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2006 after his junior year at Kent State.

Rolando Lozado

Rolando was one of the first players to come out of our academy in Venezuela. He spent the summer of 2005 in a Dynasty uniform and collected a record 11 victories as a right handed pitcher. Rolando showed pinpoint control and a knee buckling curveball to match. He was signed as a free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006.

Ivor Hodgson

Ivor was a first team All-Met baseball player in 2004. Ivor is one of our longest tenured players, spending three years on the 19U team. He was a smooth fielding centerfielder who covered a lot of ground and lead our teams in outfield assist. He also served as a spot starter, and closer for the squad. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 2007.

Jared Williams

Pound for pound Jared was one of the best Dynasty players of all-time. He had a small frame and packed a mean punch. He hit for power and played every game like it was his last. Jared attended Wagner College where he was an instant impact player. He went on to play independent ball after finishing at Wagner.

Joel Gonzalez

Joel was as good of a catcher as I have seen. He is also one of the longest tenured Dynasty players of all-time. He wore the tools of ignorance and caught over 90 percent of games in a three year span. Joel had a great eye at the plate and reached base in 33 consecutive games, which remains a team record. He played professionally in Puerto Rico in 2005.

Mike Sheridan

Mike was a smooth fielding first baseman, and one of the best hitters I have ever been around. He is a natural athlete, who also played varsity basketball at Gonzaga. He understood how to play the game and worked tirelessly to improve his overall speed and agility. Mike was a part of one of the best teams Dynasty has ever put on the field in 2005, where he started at first base and played some outfield. He went on to star at William and Mary, where he became an All-American. He was the Tampa Bay Rays first pick in the 5th round of the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft.
